About

I was first introduced to the stock market by my mom; I would put aside small amounts of money I received from my part time jobs and she would invest them in ETFs. After moving out to start grad school and discovering dividend investing through other bloggers, I decided I wanted to manage my own finances using this strategy.

This blog will be used to chronicle my partner's and my journey to financial independence (hopefully) using the income from an assortment of dividend paying stocks. I will be posting about what stocks we purchase (or rarely sell), monthly dividend income, and monthly changes to our portfolio size.

Because we live in Canada, the majority of our holdings are Canadian but it's not uncommon for us to invest in US companies.

Now that we live in the US, our portfolio has shifted heavily towards having US companies.
