Recent Transactions - July 2017

It sure has been a long time since I've posted one of these... To summarize all that has happened because of my partner's move, she liquidated her TFSA and non-registered accounts, moved her pension money into a locked RSP account, exchanged most of her CAD into USD (in hindsight, now would've been a better time to do so), and finally, after jumping through many hoops, is putting the money back to work.

I won't go through all the stock transaction details but since then we sold AGU, BMO, BNS, CAE, CCA, CJR.B, CTC.A, CUD, CWB, EIF, FTS, FTT, HSE, LB, LIQ, MG, MX, NA, PLZ.UN, RY, SAP, SU, TD, and XQQ.

We sold and repurchased in her LRSP ATD.B, CAR.UN, CM, EMA, MRU, REF.UN, TRP, and T.TO

Lots of stocks starting with C.

So far we have purchased ELS, EMN, LOW, SBUX, and SCHD. And with my employer now offering a low cost 401(k) plan, I've been regularly contributing to several Vanguard index funds.

All in all, this brings our total dividend income to US $3,242.30/year. Not quite where we left off before the move but we will reach that amount soon enough.

Going forward I will be reporting everything in USD since most of our assets are in this currency now.

Dividend Income - May 2017

It's been a long time since I've posted due to my (now) fiance joining me in Chicagoland. Between her moving to my old apartment, her starting a new job, and then us moving closer to the city, it's been a hectic few months.

This month's dividend income came in at $180.41, a 30.9% decrease over 2016's $261.28. Usually you'd expect an increase in dividends but we had to liquidate my fiance's TFSA and non-registered Canadian assets. We are currently in the process of converting her CAD to USD and opening a US brokerage account to invest in. So our dividend income will continue to suffer for a few more months until all the money is reinvested.
